Shades of Love fiesta medal proceeds to benefit RoyMass Youth Alternative. RMYA creates brighter futures for children in crisis. Promoting individual success and healthy relationships in a safe, healing environment. Giving children and families the tools to end the cycle of abuse.
Yesterday, Judge Nelson Wolff signed a Proclamation naming (RMYA) as the official “Safe Place” for Bexar County. As part of the National Safe Place program as the designated Safe Place in Bexar County. RMYA provides a safe place for youth who find themselves in crisis or need a place to stay. By the youth texting SAFE and their location to 4HELP (44357) when in San Antonio, they will by an RMYA directed to the nearest Safe Place location.
An RMYA staff will pick cover this event them up 24/7 and bring them to the RMYA Centro Seguro Drop-In Center for immediate help and shelter.
Everywhere that youth see a yellow and black Safe Place sign, they can seek immediate refuge. There will be 20 locations in San Antonio by year-end and have partnered with RMYA as Safe Place sites. Also, RMYA will soon be partnering with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio to provide more safe place sites for youth in the San Antonio area.
To launch National Safe Place Week (3/17-23), please join us on Monday, March 18 from 10:30 a.m. – Noon for the unveiling of our National Safe Place sign at RMYA Centro Seguro Drop-In Center and RMYA La Puerta Emergency Shelter at 3103 West Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78213.
